Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
In just a little more than a week, Reformation Lutheran Church in New Bern, NC will celebrate its one-year anniversary of being a NALC mission fellowship congregation. I’m excited to announce that through the grace of God and the generous financial support of the Carolina’s Chapter and many NALC Churches, we have been blessed being able to call of our first pastor, Pastor Stephane Kalonji.
Pastor Kalonji, a native of Zaire, attended the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago, IL, receiving a MDiv in May 2002, then completed the Colloquy Program at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO in May 2003. He was called and ordained in 2005 as a pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, LCMS, in Chicago, IL. He recently completed the requirements to be a NALC pastor and will hold his first worship service with us on June 17th, 2012.
Pastor Kalonji speaks several languages and is fluent in English and French. He is married to Michele, and has three daughters, Christina, 12, Monique 6, and Stephanie 2, who will join him in New Bern the beginning of July.
