NALC Disaster Response

During Hurricane season, the disaster relief warehouse at St. John’s Statesville was emptied three times sending relief supplies to New Bern, NC, Wilmington NC, and Panama City, Fl. We are now in the process of preparing for the next catastrophe. The goal is to have 250 layettes, 500 school kits, 1000 quilts, 1000 flood buckets with Bibles and 1000 health kits at both the St. John’s Statesville warehouse and the Advent King’s Mountain warehouse. The King’s Mountain location is now ready to receive supplies. This is a massive effort that receives help from NALC churches from around the country.

St. John’s currently has about an eighth of our goal on hand. We know there will be more storms next fall and flooding in the spring. Our goal is to be prepared when called upon. Congregations of the Carolinas Mission District are asked to continue gather disaster relief supplies as they are able. Anyone with questions may contact Pastor Ernie Sheldon, our mission district Disaster Relief Coordinator.
