On many occasions, family, friends, and others have intervened in my life. Sometimes it was to save me from myself, sometimes from other hazards. Here in Galatians, we find God intervening into humanity through his Son to save us all. All humanity was lost in the clutches of sin and people were slaves to its affects. Our hero Jesus Christ redeemed us from our predicament, thus, intervening into the world in a monumental way. We, who were once slaves, shed the bonds of this status and took on the role of children of God.
The love and mercy of God are overwhelming indeed. He has taken us, who by our own doing and nature deserved the status we had acquired, and transformed us into the heirs of his love and mercy. We, who were once without hope and without a family to claim, were taken in and adopted into the very family of God. Now the love, comfort, protection, and sustenance we once lacked have been distributed to us in overflowing abundance.
Prayer: Father, thank you for your love and adoption of us all through the redemptive work of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen
