Mark 2:13-22, Ephesians 3:1-13, Isaiah 42:1-17
The season of Epiphany is about us experiencing the light of Christ revealed to the world. So often we hear that this world is more in darkness today than ever before. Why is that? I think it is because we are, more than ever, living lives apart from God. We are blinded by the darkness of this world. We live like a boat without a rudder, following our own desires for attention, praise, pleasure, lust, power, etc., which leads to a path of self-destruction. Following our own desires is a horrible way to make choices in life. Without God you go through life like a blind person, not knowing the best way to live, but captured by sin.
The season of Epiphany shows us the light. As the star guided the magi, so the ultimate STAR Jesus Christ has become our new light and director. He is the one that shows us a new way to live or as Isaiah says HE will be the light for the nations. As His light shines on us and shows us a new direction, may the gospel good news set us free from sin and thus living in HIS LIGHT REVEALED.
Prayer: God we thank you that we are governed by your light may live accordingly. Amen
