isaiah1-26

Isaiah 1:21-31; 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12; Luke 20:9-18

In these three texts we receive warnings that apply to the unfaithful, those who do not trust in the Lord. Isaiah tells us, “Afterwards you shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city.”(Isa 1:26)

Paul tells us of his treatment in Philippi and yet he writes to Thessalonica, telling them of how he came to them proclaiming the gospel and being gentle as a nurse taking care of her children.” (1Thes 2:7) This is our call to the world to not try to force on anyone but to gently proclaim the truth of the gospel.

Our Savior is the Rock, and if we do not stand upon him as our cornerstone, then we will stumble upon him and be destroyed like the leaders who opposed him. (Luke 20:17-18)

Prayer: May we always seek to stand on you, Lord, and not the sinking sand of idolatry and works righteousness. Amen.

Today’s devotion was written by Ron Hamm,
