Ecclesiastes 2:16-26; Galatians 1:18-2:10; Matthew 13:53-58

Get busy. You not only have this one, earthly life to live but, it is likely that you will not be remembered for long. (Ecc 2:16) However, what you live for—what you do and teach—may continue to be lived out in the lives of others.

Paul is remembered more for the lives he changed after he had been well-known as a murderer. Jesus was rejected in his hometown, yet is loved by billions today.

You and I may not be remembered for long, as Jesus and his apostles are. Still, we may help others remember the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles, long after we have passed away from earth and memory.

Prayer: Lord, help me seek not so much to be remembered as to help others remember you. Amen.

Today’s devotion was written by Mark Ryman,
Pastor of Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Asheboro, NC.

Our Lord was the ” home repair guy” it seems knowing carpentry and stonework. He is definitely the repair guy of our sins and hearts and spiritual homes. His works were the greatest works.
