Isaiah 4:2-6; Ephesians 4:1-16; Matthew 8:28-34

Our scripture today from Ephesians chapter four is chock full of memorable faith phrases that are often quoted among people in the Body of Christ. Like the DNA that carries the messages of human design, here in this letter contains key instructions for the design of the church. Paul talks about our “calling.” Without this call from the “Head,” namely, Christ, the people who are his Church could not exist. You and I often forget that without our baptismal call, we could never know the joy of being equipped to share Christ’s love and truth. Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) Not only can we find our way into his promises, but we can help bring other people with us! The DNA of faith is in sharing the messages of the Good News found in Christ. Without this call we could not equip one another for this glorious work we call ministry, so that he, Christ, might fill all things.

Prayer: Father of all grace, help me to be a transmitter of your truth and love, in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Today’s devotion was written by Randy Conley,
